EVALUATION METHODOLOGY FOR SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION
Encourages a more sustainable construction that brings economic, environmental and social benefits for all involved in the building’s life (promoters, owners, tenants and/or users).At the same time, this certification transfers the Social Corporative Responsibility of the company to society and to the market in an unequivocal and easily perceptible way.
ECONOMICAL BENEFITS. A building with a MEES Certification, supposes important economic benefits to its users (decreases energy consumption between 50-70%, reduces water consumption in almost 40% and diminishes functional and maintenance expenses between 7-8%, increases rents in 3% and the occupational property fee in a 3.5%).
ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS. The measures promoted by the methodology to reduce CO2 emissions to the minimum during the life of the building are grouped, among others in categories as: Transportation (location area), Waste (related aspects to storage prior to collection and treatment) or pollution (use of refrigerants and insulations with low potential of global warming).
SOCIAL BENEFITS. The environment where we work, shop and interact, is an important contribution to the quality of life. Thus, measurements of air quality, lighting levels and noise, influence directly in more comfortable, productive, secure and healthy buildings.
ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS. MEES Certification grants the possibility to generate cultural changes at different levels. For example, the capacity of transforming the market and promoting the use of sustainable constructive materials.
